Fundamentals of Society-Building: Judgment is coming

We have once observed that the world has been in darkness and families have been adversely affected as a result. We noticed the deviation from the original intention of God the creator for godly behaviors, attitudes and characters which parents should inculcate in their children from their formative years. We cited areas of the world trending with conflicts, especially the Levant region popularly known as the Middle East where hostilities broke out between the Palestinians (formerly Philistines) and the Israelis (formerly Israelites) in recent times. We heard how scores of women and children were killed either deliberately or inadvertently, with both sides pointing accusing fingers at who first violated the rules of engagement in such conflicts. Recent developments in Nigeria where agitators for sovereign nation states within the Nigerian "federation" shifted focus of this darkness from the Middle East region to Nigeria. Reports of killings of presumed innocent civilians by Nigerian security forces, including the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and Nigerian Armed Forces rose from the South East of Nigeria and the other parts of the Eastern Region (also known as, and called, South South). Note that the South East of Nigeria actually represents the Eastern Nigeria in geographical terms. Meanwhile, the Forces blamed the activities of unidentified arms bearing persons who killed some of their personnel and torched some police office buildings as well as office buildings of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on their prime suspects, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN), set up by the leadership of IPOB, without any investigation at all. In fact, a former inspector General of Police (IGP), was sacked as a result of his hasty accusation of the suspected groups for the first incident of torching Police office buildings and breaking the gates and releasing prisoners from a Correctional Centre in Owerri the Imo State capital. Meanwhile, the leadership of IPOB has severally dissociated themselves and the ESN from the activities of the "unknown gunmen" although apparently welcoming their activities as a revenge by aggrieved persons whose acquaintances had suffered untold brutalities, including killings, in the hands of the Nigeria Police and other security forces. Yet, the government of Imo State was perceived as organizing the gruesome murder of one Ikonso, one of the commanders in the Eastern Security Network, on the pretext that he was masterminding the killing of soldiers who unreasonably went after the Eastern Security Network because they were controvertibly proscribed by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The killing of a prominent Nigerian politician, one Ahmed Gulak, which occurred in the state capital of Imo around this same tense period aggravated the suspicion of both divides of North and South regions of Nigeria. Police, in turn, went haywire killing whoever they ran into on the pretext that the victims were the perpetrators of the killing of the politician. Again, the new IGP who resumed work not quite long after the previous one was dropped, gave an unprintable order to a reinforcement of police mobile force squad deployed specifically to the South East thereby aggravating the already tense situation. Meanwhile, the fear gripping families across the region can only be imagined. The security forces barricaded most roads and streets in an attempt to slow down the attacks on targets of the unidentified gunmen hence creating traffic tensions on the roads and streets occasioning movement restrictions for citizens. This brought about untold hardships on the residents in the affected areas. As if that was not enough, the President of Nigeria made a tweet on his handle suggesting that he was ready to wage a war against the Indigenous Peoples of the East should they continue with their ‘misbehavior’, in his own words, promising to “treat them in the language they will understand”!This made Twitter delete the vicious tweet which it claimed violated its community standards on safety rules. However, hell was apparently let loose given the reaction of the Nigerian Government in retaliation to Twitter’s action. The world has altogether been shaken to its foundation as many mainstream media of note and world leaders have reacted to the ban on Twitter by the Nigerian Government. Peoples of Nigeria have mostly condemned the action of government citing restriction of their freedom of expression as against their fundamental human rights. In all this, it is not very difficult to see the hand of God writing his judgment on the affected entities, be they governments, organizations or individuals who made bold to violate his eternal laws with impunity. As the God of justice, he is known to set a time to bring judgment on peoples and nations who fail to take advantage of his provision of forgiveness if they repent of their sins. Sins mean all wrong doings. God is so holy that he has warned to punish every sin no matter who is involved. A prayer of repentance is all that is required to avoid the inevitable judgment of God.Yes, judgment is coming on all those who create environments characterized by insecurity, panic and unhappiness, especially for parents, children and adults against their God-ordained roles as enshrined in the fundamental human rights and proper constitutions of nation states. There shall be no escape for the guilty with respect to the imminent judgment of God.

Fundamentals of Society Building: What to Condition A Child for.

Teaching is the art of communicating with a person with the view of imparting knowledge of relevant concepts, precepts, ideas and attitudes in order to encourage behavioral changes in the recipient. Now, parents happen to be the primary teachers of children in this case. Hence, it is important to teach the teachers of our children what to aim at imparting in the young developing minds. In this instance, the word teaching as it applies to children in formative years actually refers to Conditioning. There is a concept by earlier psychologists that the child's mind is like a clean slate ( tabla-rasa ) and teachers are at liberty to write whatever they wanted to impart on the child's mind so as to achieve some expected results. On the surface, this theory appears attractive and has succeeded in catching the attention of earlier teachers too. But a very close look at the theory may reveal otherwise unless the child had been designed as a robot by the creator, which, however, is not

Fundamentals of Society-Building: Effective Parenting of Children in Formative Years (How to Start off Children in the Way They Should Go).

P roper parenting is godly parenting.  God has a purpose and plan for the family. God is sovereign in that the book of Genesis, the record of the beginnings, has it that "In the beginning God..." We read this in Genesis 1:1. This speaks to the fact that life is all about God. It is clear that apart from God there is nothing else. No God, no beginning; no creation. It is that simple. We must understand this as it also speaks to the fact that God assumes sole ownership - patent right over all creation. Hence, God dictates and decrees the way. We read in Genesis 18:17-19, the demands of God as he apparently boasted about his friend Abraham. That he was fully aware that Abraham would unfailingly direct his children and household after him to follow God's way by obeying all his commands. God was confident that Abraham would be a role model in children's proper upbringing. We thus realise that God's purpose and plan for the family is that the name of God should be trans

Fundamentals of Society Building: How to Condition A Child.

The basic way to teach a child is by doing. A child cannot learn what he cannot do. Hence, the importance of having a good knowledge of child development and growth for each parent or prospective parent should be emphasized. Instructions are not, however, ruled out completely only the child should be guided by the proper conduct of the instructor, the parents. For instance, a lazy parent cannot expect to teach a child hard work without incident. Yet a hard working parent can only expect that the child would learn the trait without much ado and rightly so. Barring any external influence, a hard working parent can easily groom a hard working child. Only the positive should be presented to the child for emulation. Only positive instructions should be given to a child. That is, tell the child what he should do and not what he should not do. Say, "do this," "do that," and not, "don't do this," "don't do that." Negative instructions serve only

Fundamentals of Society-Building: A Quick Review of the EBook, Proper Parenting of Children in Formative Years, By C.N.C. Ejiofor

A quick look at the eBook contents: There is a Table of Contents; followed by the Dedication Page, Acknowledgement Page and Introduction Page. It is important to identify who a parent is. You may be surprised to know that not everyone who engages a spouse and produces children qualifies as a parent. Parenting transcends just having the capacity to reproduce or procreate. Then we must  address the roles of the father. Here is a revolutionary idea that places the onus of child discipline squarely on the father of the house, not the mother as is generally believed. The reason for this stance is clearly stated. The role of the mother is explained as complementary notwithstanding the fact that she has a very close attachment to the child right from conception and spends more time with the child in most cases. This derives from the complementary position of leadership determined by God the creator during and after creation. This, in no way, conveys approval for the contemporary societal di

Fundamentals of Society Building: The Joint Role of Parents.

We have attempted to place the responsibility of children's upbringing squarely on respective parents. We have seen that parenting is a very serious business and that it requires certain maturity levels to qualify as a parent judging from the point of view of divinity as man is known to be a divine creature. We now have to go into concepts and ideas about the art of parenting. Parenting is largely a form of life-long mentoring of offspring with the view of imparting acceptable character traits, attitudes and behaviors into children. The chief person with the gravest responsibility in this case is the man of the house. As the head of the family, he is looked up to by the creator and the procreation for provision, direction and protection in all ramifications. Having been mature enough, he understands how to influence the child from birth for positive character traits and how to exert the necessary disciplinary pressures on the child for correction of tendency for natural bent.
